Netherwing Guide  gepost; vrijdag 13 juni 2008 11:46

"Note: this guide is for people who are halfway decent at this game, the quests are easy enough so I'm not going to write out every detail To start out, you MUST have 300 riding skill and a riding mount, as of right now flight form doesn't work from what I'm told (since you aren't mounted), you must also have done the quest to get your Netherwing rep to neutral. First, you need to talk to Mordenai in Netherwing fields, he will send you to talk to the general of the Dragonmaw orcs at the Netherwing encampment. This encampment is located right on the first E of Netherwing Ledge. There you will get several quests 2-4 daily quests based on how many gathering professions you have, and 1 repeatable quest. Daily quests are a new type of quest implemented with this patch, you can do each one once daily, but you can only do a max of 10 a day. This won't prevent you from doing the max possible quests for this chain each day, I'm guessing it's there to prevent you from grinding up for 2 mounts at once. The quests you get are : A Slow Death (Daily) 250 rep Get 12 Fel Glands from the nether rays on netherwing ledge, use these along with the quest item you received to poison the orcs working all around the ledge. Netherdust Pollen (Daily) 250 rep This is the quest for herbalist, simple enough gather 40 pollens from the netherdust bushes found around the ledge. I don't know the names, but there is a similar quest for miners and skinners. Netherwing crystal (Daily) 250 rep Collect 40 Netherwing crystals, these drop off of the flayers on the ledge and any mobs in the mines south of the encampment. I personally had the best drop rates off of the fallen in the back of the mine, but different people reported better drop rates for different things. Not so friendly skies (Daily) Get 10 Netherwing relics from the Dragonmaw transporters flying between Netherwing ledge and the Dragonmaw Fortress.

Land on one of the floating islands between the island and the mainland and use ranged attacks to pull the transporters to you. Pretty easy quest, though their aimed shot hits for a lot so if you see the bow come out for a long time try to stun them. Great Netherwing egg hunt (Repeatable) 350 rep first turn in, 250 subsequent turn ins This is the only completely repeatable quest there is, and it's to turn in a netherwing egg. These eggs can come from anywhere herbs, mining, mob drops, there are even eggs that spawn along the ridge that you can click on to loot. Sadly though, the drop rate on these is incredibly low, I probably only got 15 or so during the entire rep grind. I'm not sure how common the lootable ones will be once the servers are live, I think they take a while to spawn and the server wasn't usually up long enough for them to show up. Repeat these quests until you get to friendly which opens up : Overseeing and you: making the right choices 350 rep Bring 10 knothide leather and 1 tyrannitor hide to the npc to have your weapon crafted. Tryanitor is the level 71 Trex in the far north dome in Netherstorm. Note: the hide is a drop, it is not skinned This leads to : The Booterang (not the right name) (Daily) 350 rep You are given a booterang and have to discipline 20 dragonmaw peons with it. Pretty easy, just fly around and look for the peons that are either sleeping or are read and angry, the booterang is usable from your mount. Picking up the pieces (Daily) 350 rep Collect 15 Nethermine cargo from the mine. wow gold Easy enough, just run around looking for lootable mine carts. Dragons are the least of our problems (Daily) 350 rep Kill 15 Nethermine Flayers are 5 Nethermine Ravagers these aren't hard to find, second path from the left at the second split in the tracks at the mine (first split doesn't matter, both take you to the same place) Crazed & confused 350 rep I was kind of surprised that this wasn't daily, but anyway to get to the npc stay left while going through the mines, eventually you'll see a netherdrake, drop down and you'll see the quest npc as you exit that area.

The quest is to kill 5 Miners and 1 Foreman, to get to them go to the place with the flayers mentioned in the quest above and head to the right when given the choice. Do these until you get honored Building a Soul Cannon 500 rep Bring the guy at camp 2 felsteel bars, 1 adamantite frame, 1 khorium power core, and one quest item. You get the quest item in terrokar forest in the area above the horde base that you can only get to with a flying mount. wow gold There's a guy there who will summon 5 elementals of each element one at a time, after you kill each of them you get the item, all easily soloable. This leads to : Subduing the Subduer 500 rep Ok this quest can be difficult if you don't know what to do. Basically you have to channel a spell from your gryphon onto xxx the subduer a 73 elite in twilight ridge in nagrand. What you have to do is keep far enough back from him, and dodge his bolts to eventually drain his life down, I found it easier to train him around the center of the camp keeping across the center from him at all times (note: height has nothing to do with melee range so don't try to just fly high enough that he won't melee you). mp3 The biggest problem with this quest is that if you die while you're on your gryphon your corpse stil floats in the air, and if it's too high up you have to gy rez. However, the graveyrard you are sent to when you die in this area does not have a spirit healer. -_- if your faction controls halaa you can rez there...we didn't so I had to run all the way back to terrokar since I couldn't remember where any nagrand gys were to save my life. wow gold Once you win you get to choose between 4 green quest rewards, none of which are very overwhelming. Disrupting the Twiligth Generator (Daily) 500 rep Kill any 20 of the mobs at the same place as the above quest. Race quests 500 each for first 5, 1000 for 6th At this level you also unlock the Race quests. Basically this is a series of 6 quests where you try to fly behind each of the riders and not get knocked off by the bombs/magic/meteors they throw at you. The first 5 aren't too bad once you learn how to avoid their attacks. buy wow gold The final race is either really rough or bugged at the moment, because if you aren't right on top of the guy he'll despawn. The others you could get a little range to dodge at least. Also a riding crop/pally aura makes this a lot easier since he's faster than you, reward is a +10% mount speed trinket. " "I can't say that I've ever seriously tried to do the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza -- I've seen it happen a few times, and I love the idea, but I've never committed to fishing long enough to be competitive in it. wow gold But I'm reconsidering that after reading these extremely fun tips from Resto4Life. Some of them are Druid specific (I bet the Shaman waterwalking spell would come in handy when trying to cross over to islands and through streams), and some of them are just silly, End of the road but it's just the right kind of thing to get you in the mindset to do a little Sunday angling.

WOW - Leveling Summary Of Going From 50-60  gepost; vrijdag 13 juni 2008 11:38

"Summary of going from 50 to 60: At 50, head to Ungoro because of all the collection quests avaliable. This is mainly a beast zone, hoever, there isn't an cash drops. There are good chances on items dropping in this zone.Doing each of the quests in Marshall's Refuge will get you 2 levels easily in a day. It is quite crazy how much exp you can gain in this zone with grinding mixed with questing. Just make sure you bring a mithril Casing with you to this zone because you will need it for a certain quest. Felwood has some good kills that give you faction with the Timbermaws. At this point you should have your weapon (s) of choice until you are ready to do high level instances. So put Demonslay on both. This gives you a chance to stun and deal out an extra 100 dmg on each hit. Felwood is, of course, filled with demons. This area is also good for the lower 50s. I got up to lvl 55 fairly easy in a couple days from lvl 53. There are some nice quests in the southern area of Felwood which are easy to complete. Now that you have demonslay you can also benefit from the enchantment in Azshara. The west side has some Satyrs to kill which are fairly easy to take down, though they have imp minions. The northern camps have lvl 51 Satyrs if you find the western zone to be slow exp. The mid 50s allow you to move onto Winterspring. In the SW corner, there is a dwarf lady who gives a decent cloak just for walking from one end of the zone to the other. The town also has a nice chunk of quests to complete which give good exp. The really good spot though is Lake Kel'Therill.

It has more ghosts that are good for exp and easy kills till lvl 58. The Plaguelands are the final area to hunt in. The West from 52-55 and the East from 55-60. They are full of undead to kill. Mainly though, you are here for the Argent Dawn faction, which can only be obtained when under lvl 60. Keep that in mind. Might as well get it done before hitting 60. wow gold If you are looking for demons to kill the east has a lot of hounds, but that is about it. In the end your travels will be in Blackrock Stronghold. Getting down the basics of the spawn will kill you off a few times, but once you learn to understand it, the exp is great! Half of it is casters, which are perfect for killing. You will more than likely hit 60 here. Instances to take into consideration on the side: Before you hit 55 you will want to run through Mauradon. wow gold The trash blade (from killing the princess) is an excellent sword if you are one who weilds a sword. This drop is only beat by a rare drop in Blackrock Spire by killing the end boss. Make sure you finish up any quests in the Sunken Temple too, there are a few that give decent rewards. wow power leveling There are quests for this instance all over the world so do not be surprised if you come along another farther down the line. Blackrock Depths and Blackrock Spire are where you will want to spend your upper 50s definately. The drops here are ridiculously good and require you to have a skilled group. Mess up just a tiny bit and the group is gone so be careful. Quick Overview of grinding areas and lvls: 50 - 52: Ungoro Crater - Marshall's Refuge has easy exp with all of the quests.

mp3 players The quests that tell you to kill Pterrodax do not take though (Waste of time). Start the Linken's Quest. -Perfect place for skinners to lvl up is the Gorillas on the eastern side and the raptors on the southern side. 50 - 54: Azshara - Demon Satyrs north of ghosts and in the top (50-54). They have minions though, but not tough ones. 50 - 54: Felwood -Demon Satyrs in Felwood. wow gold Middle-west in zone. (50-54) -If you do not have Demonslay kill Ironwood Stompers. (50-54) 54 - 60: Winterspring -Ghosts on the lake. wow gold Lower central part of zone. (54-56). Can easily be farmed if you have the quest called The Ruins of Lake Kel'Theril (Just don't loot the shards you dig up) as it spawns 2 ghosts everytime you mine. Easy kills.

Guide to Mining and Goldsmithing  gepost; vrijdag 13 juni 2008 11:37

"The key for all aspiring young blacksmiths is finding the raw material you will need to craft your creations. Therefore it is highly recommended that you take up the complementary skill mining along with blacksmithing or have several friends who are dedicated to mining for you. Like other materials related crafts blacksmithing requires 1 skill point to become an apprentice, 3 additional skill points to become a journeyman, and 5 additional skill points to become an expert. If you decide to take up mining as well to finance your blacksmithing venture, you will need to spend 3 skill points for apprentice mining, 5 additional skill points for journeyman mining, and 7 additional skill points for expert mining. As a result, unless you are human you will need to reach level 25 before becoming expert in both mining and blacksmithing. Blacksmithing requires perhaps the most eclectic array of materials of any of the crafting professions. In order to craft some of the higher end weapons and armors you will need to collect materials from all of the gathering disciplines (Fishing, Mining, Herbing, and Skinning). As an example, in order to craft the Shadow War Axe you will need an alchemy Shadow Oil potion from an alchemist which in turn requires an Oil Blacktail fish from a fisherman along with other herbs. But for the most part your main components will come from mining so here is a list of the more common components you will need in great quantity listed in order of difficulty to attain (number in parentheses is the mining skill required). Copper Bars (1) Your basic copper acquired from Copper mining nodes found in most hilly and mountainous starting zones (e.g. Dun Morough, Elwynn Forest, Durotar). Tin Bars (65) These are found in Tin mines in lower level zones (e.g.Barrens, Loch Modan, Redridge) Bronze Bars Bronze bars are smelted by combining Copper and Tin bars. Silver Bars (75) Silver mines are quite scarce and found occasionally in place of a Tin or Iron mine. Iron Bars (155 bug should be 100) Iron Mines are found in mid level mountainous zones and are usually guarded by ornery inhabitants of those zones (e.g.

Alterac, Thousand Needles, Stonetalon) Steel Bars Steel bars need Iron bars to lend them strength and Coal (from a trade vendor) to ensure the fires of your forge burn hot enough. Gold Bars (155) Gold mines are a precious and rare commodity and can be found in place of Iron mine. Mithril Bars (155) Mithril mines deep in the heart of the mountain yield an abundance of Mithril, unfortunately no blacksmithing formulas currently use it. Truesilver Bars (155) not yet implemented Truesilver mines currently give you iron ore In addition to metal you will also find stones inside mines which are also needed to make sharpening stones to add weapons damage and grinding stones used in almost all recipes. Rough Stones Found in Copper mines Coarse Stones Found in Tin and Silver mines Heavy Stones Found in Iron and Gold mines The final element you will commonly need to create your weapons and armor is the gemstones. Some can be found mining while others need to be acquired either from killing specific creatures or from fishing. In order of difficulty to obtain though not necessarily rarity: Malachite Copper Mines Tigerseye Copper Mines Shadowgem Copper Mines Small Lustrous Pearl Fishing or Small clams from Murlocs Moss Agate Tin and Silver mines Lesser Moonstone Tin, Silver, Iron, and Gold Mines Iridescent Pearl Fishing or Large clams from higher level Murlocs Jade Iron and Gold Mines Citrine Iron and Gold Mines (and Dragons) " "For those whose characters weren't updating or showing up at all, you'll be happy to hear that the promised fix to the Armory has been implemented today. However, CM Eyonix warns that it may take ""some time"" for all characters to update. It's been interesting to see how this Armory downtime has affected gamers. You'd expect frustration from not being able to check on your toon's equipment, reputation or talent build from outside the game, but there was also all the other ancillary activities that rely on the Armory. Everyone's favorite new gear planner, Warcrafter.net, came to a standstill.

wow gold It's still not up to speed yet (at least not on my main, which is finally showing up on the Armory.) Many signature generators either stopped updating or broke entirely. And our Raid Healing columnist, Marcie Knox, had to make level 1 alts on different realms to inspect gear of cross-server guild applicants Politician Uses WoW to Contact the Masses You may remember a little while ago, wow gold presidential candidate Governor Mike Huckabee enlisted the aid of Chuck Norris in a very amusing presidential campaign ad. Well it seems politicians have been trying to think of yet more ways to reach the people. Recently another presidential candidate, Ron Paul, organised a WoW in-game rally, to take place on New Year's Day. mp3 player wow gold Approximately 240 people showed up to take part in the rally, which involved meeting at Ironforge, taking the tram to Stormwind, then travelling to Westfall, swimming to Booty Bay, catching the boat to Ratchet, surrounding the Crossroads, then... dancing. wow gold Once the merriment was over, they all headed to Orgrimmar for the mass slaughter that must have ensued. By all accounts, the event caused a queue on the server that hosted it (Whisperwind), with up to 300 people waiting to get on. wow However, whether or not this little get-together will aid Ron Paul in his efforts to reach the Presidency remains to be seen

Blizzcast reveals Sunwell details  gepost; vrijdag 13 juni 2008 11:33

"Episode 1 of Blizzard's new podcast, cunningly titled ""Blizzcast,"" went live today. It's in two segments, one hosted by CM Karune and featuring Blizz artist extraordinaire (and, in fact, art director) Samwise Didier, and the second hosted by CM Drysc and featuring Jeff ""Tigole"" Kaplan. This installment is audio-only, but they promise that future episodes will include video as well. For now you can hear the podcast or read a transcript of it, and check out some Samwise art, at Blizzard's site. A more extensive overview is forthcoming, but for now, I imagine what you really care about is Jeff Kaplan's hints for the upcoming patch 2.4: The Sunwell raid is tuned for players in T6 gear, but there is no attunement. The Sunwell faction, called Shattered Sun Offensive, is a joint effort by Aldor and Scryer to drive the Burning Legion out from the Sunwell Plateau. Jeff calls it ""the culmination of the Aldor and Scryer storyline."" Many Aldor/Scryer NPCs in Shattrath will be changed to SSO NPCs. SW25 gear will be a Tier 7, but the looks will not be class-specific; the example he gives is that the Pally plate and the Warrior plate will be differently-colored versions of the same models -- but you can, apparently, rest assured that the itemization will be better than AQ40. The 5-man dungeon will be about as hard as Shadow Labyrinth or Shattered Halls. There are four bosses. On normal mode, the first three drop ilvl 110 blues (normal dungeon blues), but the last boss drops an ilvl 115 epic, on par with a lower-level Karazhan epic. In heroic, the first three bosses drop ilvl 115 epics, and the last boss drops an item on the level of Prince Malchezzar's drops. Buffing the loot like this means it will still be relevant for people that have been playing BC for a while now, and also it gives newcomers a chance to catch up. As one more bonus, Blizzard is giving away 12 Logitech 5.1 speaker sets and Starcraft II hats to lucky folks who write feedback emails about the podcast to them; details on this are at the Blizzcast home page.

I for one really enjoyed hearing the voices behind some of the avatars I see every day, and of course hearing some new details about 2.4. Keep it up, Blizzcasters!" "Two bosses may enter... wow gold but only one will get to leave in WoW Insider's fantasy deathmatch series. Every week we pit two of the World of Warcraft's raid bosses against one another in a battle that your votes get to decide. This week we have Lady Vashj from Serpentshrine Caverns in Outland matching up against Princess Huhuran from Ahn'Qiraj in old Azeroth. wow gold Though both of them are perfectly happy to wipe player raids, how would they fare against one another. Ultimately, that's for you to decide -- so read on! Lady Vashj relies on a combination of melee, ranged, and magic damage to take on her opponents. Since we're considering these fights to take place on neutral ground, with neither party having home court advantage, we're going to talk about Vashj's own attacks, and not her numerous helpers within Serpentshrine or her handy shield (basically, we're skipping phase 2). cheap wow gold But even without these considerations, Vashj is no pushover, and has access to some powerful attacks: Shoot/multishot: From range, Vashj can shoot single or multiple targets with her bow. Shock Burst: Nature damage plus a 5-second stun. Entangle: Roots the target in place and does nature damage over time. wow gold Static Charge: Does nature damage to te target and anyone in the vecinty of the target. Forked Lightning: More nature damage, targeting anyone in front of Lady Vashj. From a player's perspective, Princess Huhuran is an annoying resistance-based fight. mp3 players But just having a high enough nature resistance won't win this one for you -- beyond her nature damage, she can also deal immense amounts of melee damage, especially when in Frenzy or Berserk.

Her abilities are as follows: Frenzy: greatly increases melee damage. Poison Bolt: high nature damage to the closest 15 targets, only happens when in Frenzy or Berserk. Noxious Poison: high nature damage DoT which silences the target. Cast on a target at random. Wyvern Sting: AoE sleep that deals nature damage if cleansed. Acid Spit: low damage nature DoT on Huhuran's primary target -- but it stacks. Berserk: at 30% health, Huhuran will Berserk, greatly increasing her attack speed and causing her to send out Poison Bolts. Once Huhuran hits 30%, it's a fight against time for a raid, which usually has to burn every trinket and cooldown to bring Huhuran down before the increased damage causes a wipe. So there you have it -- we have two bosses that are problems for players, but might not pose such a threat to each other. wow gold Who wins and who loses in this epic battle. It's nearly time for you to to tell us, but before that, a reminder: we're considering these two bosses with approximately equal health and approximately equal damage output capabilities.

Blizzard wins the Oscars of online games  gepost; vrijdag 13 juni 2008 11:32

"As Oscar time gets closer, some of us gamers may start wishing for awards of our own. Mass Effect was at least as good as There Will Be Blood, right. Luckily, on February 7th, we gamers got our own red carpet show, as The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences hosted the 11th annual Interactive Achievement Awards in conjunction with the DICE Summit at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Blizzard, of course, managed to snag a few rewards of their own. Not only did the Burning Crusade pick up Massively Multi-player Game of the Year, but Blizzard President Mike Morhaime was inducted into the Academy's Hall of Fame. Gamespot had video coverage of the event, which you can check out here, or if you'd rather just cut to the meaty stuff, the Academy's website has a PDF with a list of the winners here. You can also check out some wider commentary on all the awards from our friends at Joystiq here. Blizzard and unintended consequences Relmstein has an interesting post about Blizzard and all the ""unintended consequences"" they seem to run into. He talks mainly about Alterac Valley and Blizzard's recent AFKer battles, as well as the fight against smurfing and selling Arena ratings. Both times, Blizzard implemented fixes that were meant to, well, fix things, but both times, the ""fixes"" were either completely dodged, or simply lead to more problems. Now, Relmstein is just thinking critically about Blizzard's actions, and we always encourage that. But at the same time, you can't really blame them for having unintended consequences to their ingame actions-- the law says everyone does. And to go the other way, the mere fact that Blizzard is confronting this stuff (honor exploits and rating sales) while other games are just trying to get PvP or a good Arena system down says that they're way ahead of the game already.

They're dealing with specific problems in implementation, while other developers are still just trying to get people to play. But at the same time, Relmstein is exactly right to call both of these examples Blizzard attacking the symptoms rather than the underlying problem. Why do people sell Arena ratings or AFK in Alterac Valley. Because Blizzard's honor rewards system makes it easier for them to do that rather than actually be good at PvP. If Blizzard attacked the problem (a mixed-up rewards system) rather than the symptoms (AFKers and smurfs), then there would be no dodging their fixes. " "After a player complains that they mistakenly paid 75g for wool cloth in the Auction House, Drysc confirms that Blizzard is all about caveat emptor: the auction house market is all about open trade, so if you buy something for the wrong price, it's all on you. This, of course, leaves the system fairly open to rampant fraud -- I know someone on another server who would often buy anything epic on the AH, day in and day out, and inflate the price an extra thousand gold. wow gold In many cases, the free market (which I'm pretty sure this is, right economists. ) can usually correct itself -- you have to stay on top of a certain market if you plan to dominate it, since if anyone posts a lower price than you, you'll lose out on a sale. But in terms of a fraud -- the original poster in the thread claims that no one would ever have a serious reason to sell wool for 75g -- it's always ""be careful what you click."" Blizzard isn't completely laissez-faire when it comes to the economy, of course; they control the flow of gold in all kinds of ways. wow gold But when it comes to the auction house, you're on your own. Have you hit the 2.4 content yet.

Obviously, everyone knows patch 2.4 hit today. You can't turn around without seeing something about it. buy wow gold And, well... if you play WoW, you were probably assaulted with a downloader before you could log in. Basically, 2.4 hit. wow gold You know that. Have you really dug into the content yet, though. I know a couple members of my guild decided they would rather spend the day farming Adamantite and Mana Thistle in the 'old' Burning Crusade content because it was mostly abandoned. While it isn't fresh and exciting, it is certainly making them quite a bit of cash. Me, personally. mp3 players I jumped in feet first. As soon as the servers came up I was flying to Quel'Danas and putting together a Magisters' Terrace group. My original intent was to get the new daily quests out of the way first, before everyone got home from school or work or whatever it is they do, but the server wasn't agreeing with me on that. wow gold Amusingly, after the mobs on my server were killed, they weren't respawning whatsoever. The server actually stayed up that way for about two hours, devoid of mobs, with hundreds of people standing around on Quel'Danas trying to figure out what was going on.
